Colleges and other training organisations only teach you enough to pass the course, but you still have no Practical Experience at the end of it to get the job you want.

This is a fast track course to take you through PC's, Server's, Hardware, Software and networking principals in your first week.

A Customer wanting to purchase a Server and Network for their business kicks off week 2.

We walk you through all the steps from Network design, picking the right equipment for their budget, planning the network and providing documentation to give to the customer for approval, before getting your hands dirty by building and configuring the Server, router, switch, workstations and network printer.

The customer returns at the start of week 3 to ask for the security to be tightened up on the server/network to stop prying eyes.

We use advanced methods, delving into Group Policy and 3rd party tools to configure the advanced features of a Server. Towards the end of the week users start to log fault calls now that they've had a chance to break it, so we discuss fault finding methods to get to the bottom of these issues, followed by a brief customer service discussion.

Week 4 is the most advanced part of the course, as we enter the simulator. You take on a 1st line / 2nd line network administrator role, looking after a network of users. Incidents are created for you to log. You then pass them to your buddy (if available) to diagnose and fix.

You will learn key methods to diagnose and track down where the faults lie. These methods will ensure that you understand how and where to fix a fault when it occurs, without wasting time barking up the wrong tree.

Weeks 5 & 6 are free. These weeks are for the best students who possess the customer service and technical skills to be let loose on real customers servers. You may also get a chance to visit customers to see how their IT needs impact on their business and how you can help. Some of our past students have been paid by our partners to install anything from a network printer, to a full Server as they are confident in our training program to give you real world practical experience.
